Ripple Effect

The purpose of designing products and services for your audience is to trigger the behavior [reaction] of one individual [your perfect client] so that their reaction causes a ripple effect with society…a society of people who normally would not buy your product until they witness a reaction from someone who believed.

The Law of Supply and Demand for the Entrepreneur

Entrepreneurs [producers] must innovate [supply] the products that their perfect client [consumer] wants.

For instance…I am ecstatic about the movie Thor: The Dark World.  So excited that it became my everyday thing to talk about for over a month and it doesn’t come out until November 8, 2013.  So excited that my son repeatedly tells me to stop watching the commercials.

Every time I discuss it with someone who probably did not care, they become just as excited.  Their excitement is the reaction to my behavior [action] regarding the movie Thor: The Dark World [product].

Now…what does that do for the Thor franchise and why should they care?  My excitement adds one more die hard Chris Hemsworth fan to the box office line.  And, they didn’t even know they were a fan.

I did the selling for the Thor franchise.  Of course, I wasn’t compensated to do it.  But it bought me great pleasure to talk about something that I believe in.

Fans start movements for what they believe in

Think of your product as the beginning of a movement.  What type of ripple effect do you want to create.  What type of REACTION do you want to happen from the BEHAVIOR of your perfect client in response to your PRODUCT.  Who will believe in you and your product enough to spread the word.

Don’t just create a product…

Start a movement.

    Thanks for this post! I loved the sentence at the beginning: “Entrepreneurs [producers] must innovate [supply] the products that their perfect client [consumer] wants.” I never thought about marketing this way. But, it seems so common sense when you state it like this!

  2. Don’t know anything about Thor or the movie but liked your comment about “What type of ripple effect do you want to create.” I want to create the ripple effect of joy and balance.

  3. Great post Denise! It’s much easier to have your fans do your selling for you! This is why I am against targeting random influencers. Instead, empower your existing fan base! They already believe in what you do and know how to sell that belief to others.

    …now I want to see the movie too!
