Positive Selling Ambiance

So, normally if you were meeting a client offline and your strategic marketing was done correctly, she is ready to sign on the dotted line…before the meeting that is.

Here is the catch…no one likes to be sold to. So, even if she is ready, there is still a chance you can lose the sale. Why? Because your perfect client’s defense system automatically goes up at the closing. Right before the signing of the agreement.

So what can you do? Set up the atmosphere during the closing!! Make sure they are comfortable in their current environment and with you.

Most business owners take their clients out to eat, drink and have engaging conversations during the closing.  The bigger the offer price the bigger the meal plan. Dining is a good way to soothe the soul.  But, suppose you have an online business?

Set up a Positive ONLINE Atmosphere

Soothe their soul…with support and thoughtful comments on social media platforms. Scan for your ideal clients and engage. Get to know them and let them get to know you by showing up and becoming transparent. Create a comfort zone online for them to like you.  Invite them to join in the conversations that you are a part of by mentioning them and asking for their thoughts on a particular subject.

Also, comment on their social media posts that get lost in the mix. You know those posts when someone asks a question and the only vision you have is tumbleweed tumbling through a deserted ghost town.  Help them to get noticed by boosting their post to the top of the page.  Others will follow you on the thread when they see a conversation is taking place. If no one follows you, then that’s OK too. The one who posted would be forever grateful that you took the time to comment.  That is when you connect and exchange social media links.

Do you ever go to blogs where one or two people are commenting or the absolute worst…no one is commenting.  What is wrong with being the first?  Lead the movement!  Don’t be an info snatcher, leave a comment.

It’s a Virtual Affair!

Your website is a great place to create a positive selling atmosphere.  Think of your website as a brick and mortar top of the line clothing boutique.  What would you offer for FREE to make her feel comfortable.  Maybe some wine or hors d’oeurvres.  Hey…guess what? She wouldn’t have to give up her email address to get it.

Do you have any gifts to give to your perfect client online without her opting in to your newsletter?  Create a set of training videos, eBooks or audios…without the opt-in feature.  This is your gift!!

Your perfect client has now tagged you as the go to place to hang around.

Now for the almighty newsletter!!  If you are about to promote a new program. Don’t do it!!  Not until you have created the positive selling ambiance first.  Give yourself at least 3 weeks before the promotion.  Write blogs and love letters to your perfect clients with hints about the upcoming products.  Create the immediate need.  Then hit them with your best shot during the launch!

So take a moment, be thoughtful, show up, engage and create an inviting atmosphere for your perfect clients.

  2. Great idea!! I do like reading other people’s comments so this is a great way to set the tone and mood! You have some creative ideas that I haven’t thought of before or seen! Always learn a lot from your posts!

  3. What lovely advice. I see that I can take my love of cooking and offering food and translating that to my blog (where I offer recipes and such).Myabe I can do it all in a friendlier way. Definitely something to think about!
